Translation Process - An Overview

Subject to three levels of quality control, our documents are not merely translations, but international communication tools that set a standard of excellence. Global Link can translate correspondence, legal contracts and patents, forms, technical literature, sales and marketing material, business cards, brochures, proposals, user manuals, video scripts, web sites and much more.

Each translation project is assigned a team. Teams consist of Project Managers, Translators, Editors, and Proofreaders. The Project Manager is the primary contact between team members and the Client. Project Managers monitor the quality of the translation, and oversee project schedules to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

1. Evaluation: Global Link evaluates each project using the following criteria:
   


• Target Language/Audience
• Subject Matter
• Turnaround Time
• Cost Effectiveness (i.e. use of Glossaries and/or Trados to maintain consistency and reduce cost of repeated words, etc.)


2. Initial Translation: The source document is translated by a Translator accredited by the American Translators Association (ATA). Translators are native speakers of the target language with a minimum of 10 years experience. All Global Link Language Consultants are completely bilingual and have extensive background and/or training from renowned institutions, in addition to familiarity with your industry-specific terminology.
   


3. Language Review: After completion of the initial translation, the translation undergoes two review cycles by Global Link language professionals. The translation is proofread by an Editor for grammatical and syntactic accuracy, appropriateness of style, and for possible omissions. The Editor then works with the original Translator to decide which changes to implement.
   


4. Client Approval: The translated document is sent to the Client for field and/or international approval.
   


5. Delivery: Final delivery is made upon receipt of approval. The document is supplied in the Client's choice of format - hard copy, diskette, cd, facsimile or e-mail.
